Join us at 11am this Saturday for a vibrant Lion Dance performance in our driveway! The lion dance is a traditional Chinese performance that symbolizes good luck, prosperity, and the warding off of evil spirits. It’s commonly performed during festive occasions to bring blessings and ensure a positive start to the year. Don’t miss this exciting cultural experience!

When: 11am to 11.45am, 8 February 2025 (Saturday).

Where: The Sail Driveway

Admission Requirements: Free viewing

 

Thaipusam Festival in Singapore

Thaipusam is a vibrant Hindu festival celebrated by the Tamil community in Singapore. Devotees participate in a procession from the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple to the Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, carrying kavadis (elaborate structures) as acts of penance and devotion. The event features rituals, prayers, music, and a colorful procession, offering visitors a unique cultural experience.

When: 11 February 2025

Where: The festival takes place at the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, starting from Little India and ending at the Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, also in Little India.

How to get there: 15 mins’ car ride from Aurealis Serviced Residence.

Admission Requirements: The event is free to attend, but visitors are encouraged to dress modestly. No tickets are required to view the procession.  

 

Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands

Sunset Boulevard: This is a major production starring musical theatre legend Sarah Brightman, the original female lead singer of the Phantom of the Opera! It’s a lavish new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s masterpiece, a classic tale of faded glory and ambition in Hollywood. This is running throughout February, so you can catch it this weekend. 

When: February 7th – 23rd, with shows on Tue – Fri: 8pm, Sat: 2pm & 8pm, Sun: 1pm

Where: It’s located within Marina Bay Sands, so it’s easily accessible by foot or taxi.

Huayi, Chinese Festival of Arts

Dive deeper into Chinese culture by participating in traditional Chinese shows and performances to experience the rich heritage firsthand!

25 WILD YEARS: THE ANNUAL RICE BALL

Calling all drama kings and queens (in all sense of the words)! Join Wild Rice theatre group to celebrate 25 years of groundbreaking theatre at their biggest fundraising event, Rice Ball 2025! Enjoy a night of exquisite cuisine, a gala performance featuring top local stars and an 8-piece orchestra, and end with a dance party led by DJ Keith Colaco. The dress code is Damn DRAMA – go big and wild with your most outrageous outfit!

ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands

When: Sun – Thu: 10am – 7pm (Last admission: 6pm) & Fri – Sat: 10am – 9pm (Last admission: 8.15pm).
